Gianluca Carretta is an Italian photographer with a previous background in hospitality that has allowed him to travel the world. Exploring and discovering the beauties of this planet has nurtured his love for photography and his passion for using his camera to record these memories.

In 2017, captivated by the exquisite nature of the land down under, Gianluca decided to return to Australia to pursue photography as a new career.

From 2019 to 2021, Gianluca graduated with a Certificate IV and Diploma in Photography and Photo Imaging from RMIT University in Melbourne, further developing his technical knowledge and creative approach to photography.

Gianluca specialises in abstract architecture, abstract landscape, and wildlife photography. His passion for the natural world inspires him to create abstract images of architecture and landscapes, revealing the geometry, patterns, and shapes that connect them.

Wildlife photography, however, holds a particularly deep meaning for Gianluca. Driven by his passion and connection with nature, he seeks to document the expression, feelings, and beauty of wild animals, while at the same time celebrating their individuality and the remarkable qualities that make each species unique.

Through his wildlife photography, Gianluca hopes to help document the increasingly fragile connection between humans and the natural world, while drawing attention to the impact of human interests on wildlife and the growing threat of extinction faced by many species in the wild.
